The Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2023 is open for submissions. Entry submissions close 1st November 2022 so start writing or submit a short story you already wrote but haven’t published yet.

It is free to enter and as always it is open to any citizen of a Commonwealth country who is aged 18 and over. 

The Commonwealth Short Story Prize is awarded to the best piece of unpublished (work must be unpublished) short fiction (2,000–5,000 words) and the overall winner receives £5,000. Now Regional winners each receive £2,500 and the opportunity to be published online by Granta magazine.
